Shift plates

Was checking fluids and did not realize I was removing the shift plate screws. What do I do now that the shift plates have fallen down? Sorry for the ignorance.

Sorry.
But what model tractor are you working on
and what and where are the shift plates?
And did you remove screws or bolts.
Any help you need is readily available here
but we gotta understand you first.
PS, Welcome to the N Board.

Thanks for the welcome. Well that would help probably. Whoops. It's a 53 Ford Jubilee. The shift plates are inside the transmission case under the shifter lever. The shift lever sits in them. There are bilateral bolts with threads on 3/4 and then 1/4 smooth bolt that I removed and the shift plates dropped down. I removed the shift lever cover to gain access and I put the bolts back in the the holes of the shift plates, but now the transmission does not engage. I did something wrong. Thanks for the help.
