Need to remove trumpet... what is this??

Hello...I need to remove the right trumpet so I can replace the lower 3pt mounting pin on 1952 8n....Before I get started what is this shaft, can and how do I remove ????

It is the brake actuating shaft, disconnect the linkage to it and it will come away with
the trumpet.
You only need to remove the wheel and mudguard, (mudguard can stay on but gets in the way)
drain the oil and then remove the ring of nuts/bolts holding the trumpet to the rear end
casing, then remove the trumpet complete with the brake assy still attached, use a floor
crane or get an assistant, I used to do these on my own years ago as the link pins were
always coming loose or breaking in Massey 135s and 148s with no lifting equipment and now
have a bad back.
Do one side at a time then the diff will stay in place with the other side axle shaft still
supporting it.
 
If you have to ask what it is, that tells me you do not have the manuals. I would suggest you get at least the FO-4 service manual. You will find you will use it all the time. I know mine is getting pretty dog eared from all of the use.
