I have a bolt that is stripped and the nut that fastens the wheel onto the hub will not thread. I have purchased a new bolt (flat on one side and has flutes on shaft) and I would like to install it but I do not know how to get the old bolt off the hub. I smacked it very hard with a hammer to try and drive is back out but it did not budge. Any suggestions?

How big of hammer you use, usually takes
a firm will aimed blow with about an 8lb
sledge to get em moving. They are
pressed in pretty good and then a bit of
rust can add to that too

Ditto what mark said, no sissy hammers and no sissy blows to pop a broke stud out, but first, look at the back side, some jiker may have tackwelded it in.

If yes, grind the rear head off and knock out the slug, and or torch out the slug. If you dont think you have the torch skill to torch the slug out without torching the hub, go with the grinder :)
