Different style drawbar bracket

My father's NAA had this style bracket
when he bought it years ago, I have
always wondered what did the rest of the
drawback that went with it look like?
Seems the pivot would be way too far
back unless it was actually supposed to
mount way up under the transmission and
have a really long drawbar.

Looks like it might be home made and bolts up under the diff like this on on my NAA, in which case the swinging draw bar wouldn't have to be longer than normal.

Does mine look like the same hole spacing on the mount plate?
But there is a the raised part in my mounting plate to create deeper hold for the pin end -- and yours is flat so pin length and linchpin holes would have to be accurate to ensure that the big pin stayed deep.

I should clarify that yes it was bolted
up under the differential like that
bracket you show would be, we removed it
and put the standard one on years ago.
It's not homemade, the picture isn't
actually ours, it's one of a couple I
have seen on eBay.

This first picture is, I believe, an original swinging drawbar clevis.
I am not sure if this one is 8N or Jubilee.
Looks a lot like what you are thinking.
The second picture is not mine, borrowed from the web to show hook up.

It looks like the collar with the lynch pin hole might have rotted away ( prior to painting) or the collar got torn away because the main pin tipped and the angular pressure broke part of the collar off.

Very interesting picture, I never saw a
drawbar like that, seems it would be
much too long for pto

Tall T, while his bracket does look a lil different from the ones I'm used to, the original swinging drawbar
anchor used a spring loaded pin instead of a linchpin to keep it in place. Greg NE

Greg,

Ah so, thanks.
Did they hold up?

I just welded that thick flat washer on to mine.
and put brass on top to soften the edges. :)

As stated used with the swinging drawbar. TOH is making those drawbars if you want to put one together. I have several of those clevis brackets out in the barn. They made a few different styles of them up thru the hundred series. (the drawbars are different from the 8n to the hundred series) They even made a special bracket for the rowcrops 900 series.
Here is one I used on my 8n just to hook a chain to for dragging logs, brush and stuff around. Worked good. If someone needs one my email is open.
Ferguson also made that bracket but the design and pin was a little different

I think with this type hitch,
was designed for some pull type combines, hay balers, pickers, etc.

you could move the hitch to the right or left as necessary, then drop a couple of pins in the holes to secure the hitch point off center.

the machine had a pto shaft tower tall enough so the pto shaft would clear the tractor hitch.

worked well as far as I know, at least it gave you some hitch point options,

many a trailer hitch was bent by just using the cross bar as you could not turn that Sharpe.
this setup let you turn sharper.

they used what they had,

My 51 8N has the same bracket. I just use it as a good place to put the floor jack when I fool with the breaks and such. I always wondered what it was for.
