I split a 1952 8n to fix a loose oil pickup tube and found this Any ideas what caused this foamy white residue on the pan.
I had done a compression check, wet and dry and all was good (100,100,90,100 dry and 115.115.110.115 wet) I have also put some ATF in #3 and let it soak for a day or so and have been running some ATF in the gas.
I took the pan off after about ½ hour of running while checking the carb adjustments. It is only below the gasket on the left side of the pan. Would the ATF cause the foaming??
Mission creep has also got me replacing the front axle bushing and pin, dust covers on tie rods, both ends, wiring harnness, crankshaft seal retainer, repair battery tray, adjust steering play, and who knows what else. Gotta love mission creep
But I really like working on these old 8n's
