1947 8n has a coolant leak at the valve near the oil diptick.
Is this part available or can I just screw in a brass plug?
Thank you!

IIRC 1/8" pipe thread. When you take it out you will drain the coolant out. If it's leaking around the threads just clean it up and put some thread sealant on it and put it back in, kind of handy to have.

Those are the larger standard size draincocks @ 1/4" npt , the 1/8" npt are used on the carburetor drains

As said, if it is leaking at the threads you can seal it.
I like to have them in there to drain the fluid with.
You can find usable replacements using part number 86625234
for ~$4. Not exactly like the original but they work.

You can also replace it with a plug if you want to.
If you go that route I'd probably use a 1/4 inch Brass pipe plug.
I have one tractor that has a 1/4 inch steel pipe plug rusted in
it so hard that the previous owner twisted the head off the plug.
I think its there to stay. At least it doesn't leak.

I drain the fluid by taking the lower radiator hose off that tractor.
That works fine too, just makes a bigger mess.
