Dad's 2N Pics

Well other than the obvious distributor issue, and straightening out his front bumper, its done.

Not a perfect job, but fixed the bugs, new gauges, new wiring, new lights and steering wheel. And painted.

And my lil helper

I would say minimal prep work compared to my 4000, but we scraped almost 2 full 5 gal buckets of crud off the tractor.

The sheet metal was fairly strait, only a few spots required attention, and we didn't fix every ding, just the rust areas.

Replaced some parts with new, and found quite a few in the salvage yards, like the rear work light. Air Cleaner Cap, Clutch rod, etc...

And when we thought we had all the muck scraped off, I spent 2 more days with a scraper and wire brush, and almost another bucket full of muck.

Its been in the barn almost a month now, and hopefully after the distributor repair it will be off and running again.

Looks real good man

GREAT JOBS at minimal investment.

After paint job cures for about a year, Instant polish job is to spray some clear lacquer over CLEAN sheet metal. Just before tractor show in local area. Include tires too.

I wish my tractor and my dog looked that good. Good job. I would be afraid to work my
tractor if it looked that good.

I have an old Craftsman Paint gun, probably as old as the tractor, or close to it, used that with my air compressor, with an air filter installed.

The small parts are Rattle Can, All VanSickle Paint from Rural King Supply Store. Used the Pre-1965 Grey and the Gloss Ford Red. I know it was probably supposed to be solid Battleship Grey, but Mom liked the 2 Tone paint it had when we bought it, so that's what it got.

Got my Distributor/Carb issues fixed tonight and took it out for a spin.

Still have to straighten the bumper and get it put on. When we bought it, it didn't have a bumper, but we managed to pick one up at the same sale for $10, but someone had hit a stump at high speed and bend the bottom bar in almost to the oil pan, once I heat that up with the torch and beat it back out, it will be done.
