Need help, 8N stalled won't restart.

I was out plowing snow with my 49 8N today. There was a loud bang and engine stalled. I have fuel and electric but no spark at the plugs.
Engine turns over. Just not sure where to start looking, the bang is most disconserting, and snow is still falling!
Thanks for your guidance,

"There was a loud bang" Backfire?

No spark because moisture form plowing snow got into the distributor. Remove the distributor, dry it out, and make certain the point gap is correct and the points are working.

I agree with Cooke your distributor has gotten water in it due to the snow and needs to be dried out

Drying out the distributor w/ a hair dryer will get you going again.

And to prevent it from happening again, replace the gaskets.

YES! Thank you all. I waited till the snow let up. Was snowing so hard I couldn't see the tractor 200 feet from the house. Brought everything in, dried it out, put it back on and it started right up. Got to get back at it now. The weathermen said 3-6 at 6am, there's 10 on the ground so I'll be plowing for a while. Atleast it stopped snowing finally.
As I learn this tractor I love this board.
Thanks again,
