I'm having trouble getting the brake drum apart I have the axle out and I pulled on the brake actuator and haven't got anywhere we flipped it upside and hot the axle on a piece of of wood an got the backing plate to move about a quarter of an inch but can't get it any farther any suggestions? Thank you

Did you turn the adjusting bolt so that the brakes are loose in the drum?

Yeah I have that loosened all the way up

Well then I would get out a big hammer again. Hold the assembly off the ground and tap (beat) on the brake drum while holding the brake
actuating rod. Sounds like you will need an extra set of hands. The brake assembly should slide out of the drum.

I had my dad helping me I will try that you don't thin the bearing on the axle might be holding me up by chance?

I don't think so. I've never experienced this much difficulty with this procedure. I am going to have to make a video or picture illustration
of this. It's too cold to do this right now but when it warms up.
