Well I put the tire back on and drove it around I took it back off then and still had to beat on it I've got it about 1/4 in. From the hub would it maybe be a good idea to heat the stud holes up with a propane torch?
 
Just keep beating on it. Did you remove the fender? That will give you more room. I've done a bunch, one was like what
you describe. Just make sure the tractor is well supported.
 

Yeah with the fender off it helps a lot I was able to get it out today now I just have figure out how to get it apart
 
Glad you got it apart. Now set the hub on the floor, loosen the brake adjuster and remove the brake assembly off the drum and axle. Let me
know if you have further problem. Make sure you have a good brake spring pliers. And wear safety glasses.
 
There is a puller that was made years ago to remove brake drums from Chryslers that had splined rear axles. It has 3 adjustable legs that bolt to the lug studs and it has a large handle on the pressure screw that is designed to be hit with a sledge. I've seen them for rent at Autozone. I have one and it's the trick for hubs.
