Tractor looks to be a 2N, not that it matter much.
Engine could still be out of an 8N.

I circled what's left of your original ballast resistor here.
It's not hooked up and it really should be or you'll burn out the
coil and/or points, which may be why it doesn't run anymore.
You will need a new one to hook it back up of course.

That doesn't explain your battery drain though.
Do you have pictures of the back and right side of your
alternator and where those wires go on your switch?

While any jury-rigged job can be fixed, given enough time and patience..................
I'm seeing too many nicked, shorted/heat damaged wires.

Start over.
 

Yikes :shock: That automotive starter solenoid needs to go :!: are some sort of safety device added. Start by determining if the original push button and linkage is operational.
 
What a mess.

As others are saying, it's time to start over. Especially as Hobo said, that automotive solenoid. And all the wiring (tip # 42)

Post more pics of the alternator so that we can ID it. Once that it's ID'd, you can get the correct wiring diagram by Googleing "wiring diagram JMOR".

Then order the manuals (tip # 39)

Pull that distributor off & check for bushing wear. At a minimum, you'll need points. plugs, condenser, rotor & cap.

The altenator looks to me like a Delco 10Si three wire setup. I'm not seeing a diode in the pig tail for the regulator. That could be the reason for the battery drain.

Hopefully the excite wire is wired to the ACC side of the ignition switch. 8) No diode are light needed....
