Mystery insulator in front mount distributor

Hi Guys,

I must've hit the wrong button in an earlier post as it did not show up. Here we go again, hoping this one will work as I'm looking for some advice.

I had an insulator melt in my distributor, there is no reference that I can find to this part in the manuals, ditto for the screw that holds the condenser wire on (mine was nylon and it melted as well)

The insulator is shown in this picture as part A (picture compliments of this forum circa 2008 and credited to JMOR).

Any work arounds? advice? thanks

Okay a workaround I thought I'd share.

Part number 9N-12150 Breaker plate, includes points and all the goodies (insulator A, nylon screw B). $40 at my local New Holland dealer (a set of points and condenser would have been $26).

So, for and extra $14 my life was just made easier. It has been ordered and will be in by the weekend.

Thanks to Royse, Ratface and HCooke for your comments and interest.
