In need of advice

Hi guys; Been lurking and learnin for a while and have a dilemma with my newly acquired 48 8-n .
It was converted to 12volt GM alternator but it is set up to kill it with the choke and the ignition switch is a toggle connected to a volt meter that won't kill it but will drain the battery if left on and if I'm thinkin right if left off or bumped off accidentally while runnin it could burn out the alternator
could one of you post or e-mail me the right wiring diagram.
By the way I love this little work horse !!!!
She has made getting my first piece of property into shape
a blast and I owe her a proper charging system !!
Thanks for your help.....Cliff

I can't post a direct link but if you Google "wiring diagrams by JMOR"
you'll find some very clear, easy to follow pictograms that are
accurate and work great for about every setup there is.

I think on mine theres a diode on the small white wire where it comes out of the generator. That keeps it from back feeding into the generator from the battery. I think if you run that wire and the wire to your coil to the switch and hook them both up to the same side then it will kill your tractor and stop any feed to your alternator.
