Ford BN025 Disc Brakes

Moto-Tug1

Does anyone have any info on servicing the disc brakes that came on these machines? Maybe some info on anything else they may have been used on.

They are hydraulic w/dual rams, The disc floats between two full "drums", but it's not a drum brake. They need to be disassembled and serviced, but the inner surface seems to be spring mounted, and I don't want to force them apart as i'm sure that parts might be challenging to find.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

HiYa Tug1-
I can help you get a copy of the original Moto-Tug Master Parts Manual if that'll help ya out...email me or go to the 'other' n-series tractor web site. Yes, the Moto-Tug used hydraulic brakes. Would you trust the standard Ford Tractor brakes if you were driving a Tug on a carrier???

I have a copy of the parts manual, and it shows a nice exploded view of the brakes, but disassembling the spring side assembly is eluding me. I don't want to force it apart and have it shatter.

I agree, hydraulic disc brakes are a huge plus, and I'd like to put it back in service as a tug, so I sure want them fully functional!

I am trying to get any info I can on the brake system for a Moto Tug please email or call me. Bill at 360-775-7217 or billdjesen@ yahoo.com, thanks.
