Busting plow

Picked this up from Tractor Supply today, going to double the size of my garden and I figured this thing would save my tillers life. The part of Osage County Oklahoma I live in is not farm land but is great for running cattle. My little tiller does a lot of revolutions to do a little scratching. Had a little time to run a couple of passes. Not so deep it pulls the clay up but turns the top soil over and throws the rocks out pretty well too. Worth the 139.00 I think. Probably use it to put a deer feed plot in the back pasture too.

they work well
I use mine for a lot of things.
burying shallow, wire, lines, rain water 'steerers'
and like you busting up tough ground.
In summer, I don't want to risk busting/bending my 2-bottom
so that one gets the job. I tie some weight to it to help it get down there in cement clay.
They are pretty tough, I've had mine for years and the only damage is I broke the blade tip off...still works.

I have one and use it from time to time.

always wondered why they made them without a sheer bolt like the sub soiler.

as I have hung it up a few times,

notice I have them properly stored in my equipment storage shed, propped up against the oak tree left of the corn crib.

Wish I could find those in my area for that price. I've been keeping a eye out for them and I haven't seen one under $500 yet.

They're great tools! I used mine a year ago last spring to put in several hundred feet of buried electrical. I was able to get 12-18" deep after multiple passes. I also use it to trench in conduit for electrical fencing running under gates.

Thing works great, 8N had no trouble with it. When those tomatoes and peppers are finally yanked out I'll do the rest.

(quoted from post at 13:13:56 10/10/15) You should be able to buy one new from your local King Kutter distributor for $170 or so.

My comment was about the all purpose cultivator that was mentioned. They are really expensive in my area compared to the price mentioned.

Here in the South,we call this a "middle buster". I had a virgin plot, about 1/2 acre and
used one to break the ground. It worked well by using each furrow to space the next one
with the rear tire in the last. I then went over it with a disc. I got a lot of veggies
from that 1/2 acre.
