Pull hitch to 3 point conversion.

A guy gave me an old pull type 5' rotary mower he wanted out of the way. I was looking at it and got to thinking that if I were going to market a small mower I'd engineer it to easily be made to work as either with little work. I am going to change it to 3 point. I was just wondering if any of you folks had thoughts on the topic. gm

Old style EDIT.lol
Gary ,That depends how heavy it is ,if it would work good, or be to heavy for a N.
With the axle, wheels and brackets still on it.

I assume you are talking about a finish mower, or are you talking about a brushog? Do you really need to change to 3pt? I'm dragging this 6' mower around. Once it's set I don't use the 3pt much. I'll probably put this mower to use behind an 8n with turf tires next year.

sure
see it a lot. scavage a 3-point A-frame off a broken implement,
weld it on.
flat deck? a carry-all welded on with a chain connecting the top to the rear of the mower would be easy, and it has an opening for the shortened driveshaft.

If it's like a Farmall pull mower, just leave the brackets
where the connecting pull arms pin in to have both ways.
(you'd probably need 2 driveshafts)

like said, biggest consideration is weight. A lot of Farmall
pull brush/finish mowers I see look just like a 3-point mower.
They'd be fine.
But, a local for sale old pull-type JD 6' brushhog I've seen..
....no way, much too heavy.

Like Kirk said, the other way works fine too.
I pull around a 3-point finish mower with my Farmall Super H
that I have rigged to the horseshoe drawbar. can't pick it up, but it works fine.
