8n doesn't want to crank when hot

On my 8n when it gets warm and you shut it down it will act like the battery is low but it works fine when cold any ideas its still 6v

Could be a battery going south but before I spent my money
on a new one I would check every connection and cable.
Both ends of the cables, especially the ground connection.
They need to be tight, clean and free of rust and paint.

You can load test the battery (or have it done at a parts store)
and check the specific gravity to make sure its in good shape.

Cables can (and do) corrode internally. Not much $$ to replace. Make sure the ground cable is on a solid contact spot (not Bat. box). Ground needn't be braided. HTH

In addition to the cables, bypass the ignition switch. It gets corroded also and the resistance goes up when it gets warm.

Thanks guys I will do some trouble shooting and post back
f it is a front distributor 8N, with ballast resistor, try bypassing that resistor when trying to start hot & if that helps, it tells you that weak spark is the problem.
