OT Need help Wiring intercom diagram

Three weeks ago, at 5am as we were getting up to go to New Orleans for the day, four guys were standing under the security light at the gate.

We did not notice them because we were in the kitchen making coffee at 5am. We pulled out of the gate at 7:20am and noticed our mailbox was down in the ditch. Since we were leaving I propped up the mailbox against the keypad and we headed for New Orleans.

When we returned at 8pm that night, I began playback the security system to see what happened to the mailbox. The recording at 5:00 on the dot, shows a car pulling over to the side of the road and hit the mailbox as they tried to hide the car behind the bushes 30 feet from my gates.

The four would be robbers were standing under the light with ski masks covering their faces for three minutes planning their job at 5:03am.
The guys came in behind the gates in a place used by UPS to deliver small packages.
The so called leader hit the nearest security camera with the butt of a shotgun to disable it, but the camera continued to record.

Another camera caught the four as they came down the 225' driveway toward the house.
My wife turned the house lights on at 5:06am and robbers ran back to their getaway car.

We never knew they were there that morning.

SO, what I'm looking for is a simple wired intercom system between the gate entrance and the house. I have three unused circuits to the gate. I want to convert the speaker in the keypad to a mic/speaker intercom that I can monitor from the house. The total wired distance will be near 300".

I'm having a hard time finding a diagram that will work for me.

I would have liked to hear what they were saying just before they tried to breakin our home.

The four went next door to us and kicked in the front door of the home. The couple was not home at the time.

Does anyone here have a intercom wiring plan I can use? I have three spare sets of twisted cat5 wire inplace.

I can't seem to find a simple wiring plan online, but maybe I'm just getting old.

Thanks

How about a tiny video camera out there, then audio/video over CAT5/Ethernet?

GOOGLE that... all sorts of adapters out there... we use on at our church to send audio and video downstairs to a big screen TV for overflow funeral or wedding crowds.

I have 4 cameras at the entrance now and two of them have a builtin mic, but my problem is distance.

At about 100' the builtin mic is useless. The builtin audio feed cannot run the 300' needed to the house. I tried a preamp but it didn't help and I tried transformer, but too much humm. A 12v 7ah battery works good but needs to be recharged often.

I want a simple wired mic at the gate, with a speaker in the house so I can hear anyone that stops or walks by.

I first wanted the camera mic to record sounds as the motion dection begins recording.
If I lived 60' from the street there would be no problem with the setup.

A wired one way intercom would do, or a two way intercom would work, but there is not much online I can find to design and built it myself.

Someone has got to remember their father or grandfather bilding an intercom from junk from the workshop.

Is the security light a motion detector light?? maybe some type of alarm wired to it to warn you and scare away any would be intruders??

Dang Brother Bishop, are you in Sunset Louisiana? Looks like its getting rough everwhere even the quiet little towns.

Looks like crime finally found this one red light town. We retired 15 years ago from Atlanta Ga. It was nice to be in such a peaceful area.

Last month Sunset was in the national news when a black guy in the down town city trying to kill his separated wife, her sisters tried to stop him and one sister was stabbed to death and two other women injured with stab wounds.

They had called the Sunset police for help and was killed with his own gun after the suspect took it away from him.
The guy them stole a car and drove it into a fast food gas station through the glass wall.

After the cops put tear gas in the building her came out.

All of this because his wife had left him.

Ours was a breakin that was foiled early and they all ran away, but two of them has been identified as two Sunset locals about 19 years old.

If they had kicked our front door in like they did the neighbors house, two or more of them would be laying in the funeral home today.

I have good cameras at my gate to see and catch activity but I now want hear the ones who stop by with out permission.

I have seen a sign on the internet that says, "If you come past these gates without permission, perpare to see thy GOD."
