Ive seen something similar, what i saw looked like a spiked steel wheel that was fastened to the outside of the tires, using the 6 bolts that hold the wheel to the hub. (Was a 9N or a 2N, dont remember which) saw it at a antique tractor show here in central ohio, maybe a year or two ago. I'll have to get a picture if i see it again.
 
That's what I have seen. They look like they would
go on the outside of the rubber tire. That would
have been a big help in the sugar sand where I
grew up.
 
Thanks guys. This picture that Fuddy Duddy posted is what I'm
used to seeing as "helper rims" for the N series.
Bolts on the center, runs on the outside of the rubber.
That set on CL just looked different from the norm.

We called them gumbo wheels. For use in the sticky soil we have in Saskatchewan. a regular set will just roll up with mud until they wont turn.
