Will a PTO shaft cap from a 2N fit on a Ford 4000

Which 4000?
62 - 64 4 cylinder probably.
65 - 75 3 cylinder no.

UD has you covered
to add....the original very stubby cap off an early N
with the 1 1/8 PTO won't fit a 1 3/8 shaft swapped in, in most cases.(if you have one..sell it, they are sought after..you could buy 3 or 4 aftermaket ones with the money)

The common aftermarket cap can be used on a later 3cyl,
but as UltraDog said, the pto shaft is too long. Cutting the very end of the cap off will still give you some protection.

There is one early cap out there that fit my 5000 with no mods.
castiron, very heavy, and very deep. I don't have a clue what it came off of...I'll see if I have a pic.
