From .gen to alt.

I installed a one wire 6volt + grd. Alt on a 2N 6 volt + grd tractor. Alt. charges but does not show through the gauge. It is wired-wire from solonoid hot side to post on Alt.{which has wire from same post on solonoid going to amp gauge},other side of amp gauge wire goes to ign.switch. This is wired according to instructions.

What am I over looking?

The wire coming from the alt. has to go to the ammeter.

call those sorry instructions! What co did those instructions come from? Connect that alt post wire to side of ammeter that is connected to ign sw instead of to solenoid & it will read on your ammeter, as it should.
