Removing the crankshaft pulley bolt?

Is there some way to get a wrench on the crankshaft pulley bolt on an 8n off without taking apart the front end of tractor? Mine needs tightening but
there doesn't seem to be room to get at it.

Oddly enough someone seems to have at some point used a cutting torch to enlarge the hole in the front axle pin, I assume in the forlorn hope they
could get a larger socket through it, but it is still too small to accomodate a socket big enough to fit on the bolt. The bolt is a plain one, not the
ratchet version, and seems to have also had a screwdriver slot cut in it as some point.

Also, is the crank pulley keyed to the crank? My parts book does not show one other than the one that does between the crank and the crank gear.

Odd thing about this job is I have a vague recollection that I had to replace the pulley about 25 years ago (it's a cast or machined solid pulley , not
stamped metal but without holes for a pump shaft), and am pretty sure I would remember if I'd had to strip the front end to do it!

A standard 5/8-18 cap screw is 15/16 across the flats and a 15/16 socket will fit through the OEM axle pin if you enlarge the hole in the flange to the same size as the ID of the pin. The pulley is keyed to the crankshaft with the same key as the timing gear.

Block the front of the tractor under the oil pan so there is no load on the axle pin. Remove the pin. Now you have a big hole to access the nut!

It is a good idea to remove the axle pin every ten years or so. This will keep it from rusting in solid.

Sounds to me like tractor (or at least the pin) once had a front mount loader pump on it from description having center been torched and having a flathead screw type of bolt instead of hexhead bolt.
As another suggested about tire iron is how I got mine out.
Still haven't picked up a impact driver but is on my wish list.
