I bought a tractor and wagon just like the one I had as a kid. paid too much but I had visions of my grandson riding it in my head.

Very cool, but what does the lever up by the base of the steering wheel do? Possibly a brake of some kind?
 
Great find. I take that it is you in the first picture. That is a rare find to get one that matches so well. For such a find I would say you did well if you paid $300 for it. If you don't want to say what you paid then tell us, I'm I too high or low. If I had that tractor as a child, then saw this one I think I would go that high. Peddle cars and tractors do bring a good price. Still looking for the Fire Chief car I had. But from what I remember of it in the early sixties, it is hard work to peddle one of those around. Probably going to be mostly for show.

I had a nearly identical pedal tractor when small. Mine appeared to be a bit later model of the one in the photo and of very similar design.

I have photos of me riding it and they are similar to the one you posted.

When small, I drove mine literally until the wheels fell off.

I always dreamed of putting a lawn mower engine on it but simply could not manage it at such an early age.

I've seen those old ones go for crazy money....and ya got the wagon too!
Most things like that didn't survive long in my youth with 2 brothers...'hold my soda...watch this' kind of thing, but it did
make us good at fixin stuff.
