Just finished repainting a rebuilt set of hat rims for my Jube (I didn't rebuild them, have to credit WayneIa for that! Thanks Wayne!) w/Rust-Oleum Hammered paint (outside) & truck bed liner on the inside. It got me to wondering if the Rust-Oleum "LeakSeal" would work as a liner. It goes on thicker & is flexible. Has anyone tried it?
Thanks,
Lynn

A friend and I just got through repairing an 8N hat rim. The band that covers the bolt cavity was about half rusted away.

I cut a piece of 1/16" plate 2-1/4 wide about 8' long with my plasma cutter and after grinding off the welds of the old band welded on the new band.
Painted the whole inside.
Had to do a lot of grinding and pin hammering to clean up a lot of rust first.
Looks great!
