What oil should I use in the front end loader of my 9N?

Not sure what oil was used in the loader attachment of my recently purchased tractor. I have lines to replace so will loose a lot of it. Want to use the right product. Any help would be appreciated.

Drain and refill with a quality hydraulic oil of the appropriate viscosity. Hydraulic oil can be purchased at most auto or tractor supply houses and will carry an ISO viscosity grade. Here is a chart showing the operating temperature window for the different viscosity grades.

Thanks. Wasn't sure that I needed to use the GL 1 oil that is required in the trans/hydraulic system of the tractor.

is this loader tied in to your tractors hyds system, or does it have a front pump and use the laoder frame as a sump, or have another sump seperate from the tractors sump? If it uses the tractor sump, you can't use the jack oil....

On my Dearborn FEL with the pump mounted to crank I use ISO32.
I'm located in CNY so winter temps need to be considered.

It is a separate system, all oil is in the boom.

Even with separate systems a lot of folks use a Universal Tractor Transmission Fluid (UTTF) in both the tractor and the loader. The UTTF is an excellent final drive lubricant (actually better than the GL-1 you are currently using) and an excellent hydraulic fluid. It is also a high viscosity index oil that has a much wider operational temperature window than conventional hydraulic and/or gear oils.
