Rear Blade Repair

The heavy duty leading edge (thick blade too) was only held on by the two end bolts and was bent and bowed up in the center due to great slabs of dirt and rust. so I removed the plate and went after the surfaces with an air chisel, a large grindstone and then a cup brush on that large grinder I scored. I primer'd both the blade and the backside of the edge plate and then used Valspar Black.

Thanks to the previous owner, I had plenty of those flat headed, recessed bolts and despite the nonconformity of the two pieces, was able to pull it all flat again.

I cleaned up and painted the Jube running boards as well.

Hey Bob,

Well, years ago thanks to old Albert Kaye who did his witching magic in my front yard, my drilled well is fine and delicious. My neighbors were not so lucky and neither are the island people who depend on lake water.

There were rumblings in another islands paper about the registration of wells and you can guess where that leads . . . "smart" meters on your property to charge you for your own well water. It's exactly like in a Charleton Heston Australian gun confiscation video I saw years ago. An 80 year old woman came on and said, "You Canadians, watch out for registration cause that's exactly what they did to us before confiscation of all guns from honest people. Registration is like a tacit relinquishing of ownership and control.

I met a well-to-do man from California last year who had just moved here and the subject of water came up. He says, "Interesting that you should mention that, because the final straw that made me decide to move to Salt Spring, was when they started charging me for the water in my rain barrel."

There now . . . aren't you sorry you asked. :D
