(quoted from post at 10:14:53 08/11/15) Did it maybe once attach to the Terminal block and bypass the filter?
Early 9N didn't have an oil line going to the governor and went straight into the block (red arrow) as you described.
Does your tractor have a filter and does it have the line from the terminal block to the filter (green arrow)?
I PURCHASED MY TRACTOR AS A 48 8N BUT WHEN I CHECKED THE SERIAL NUMBER TODAY, IT APPEARS TO BE 1941 9N ENGINE BASED THE NUMBER (9N59163). I THINK SOMEONE HAS JUST REPLACED THE 8N ENGINE WITH A 9N ENGINE. ALL OF THE OTHER FEATURES OF THE TRACTOR APPEAR TO A 8N.
BUT YOU ARE RIGHT, THE LINE ON A 9N FILTER RUNS TO THE BLOCK INSTEAD OF TO THE GOVENOR. ON THIS TRACTOR, SOMEBODY HAS CHANGED THE LINE GOING TO THE BLOCK TO THE GOVENOR AND THE CONNECTION AT THE BLOCK JUST RUNS TO THE REAR OF THE TRACTOR. MY QUESTION, DO I NEED TO JUST LEAVE THE LINE RUNING TO THE BACK OF THE TRACTOR OR SHOULD I PLUG THE LINE AT THE BLOCK. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.
