Update on Manifold Job

In a rare turn of events, I had enough spare time to pull the manifold off of my 8n. For once I come out on top, the manifold was not pitted like I figured it would be. Some scraping and 120 grit sandpaper it is ready to go back on, I didn't have a chance to clean the block up, but a first glance it doesn't look bad either. The only thing I am going to have to buy besides the gaskets, are the studs because three of the four came out of the block and it looks like the nut was welded to the stud, other than that it has been a good day. Thanks again for all the tips.

Once in a while the stars align like that! LOL
Those nuts should be brass to help facilitate getting them off.

An added advantage to using the brass ones is that they
take one size smaller socket than their steel counterparts.
That's helpful in the tight confines of that manifold.

27 lb/ft torque IIRC. [b:d4ffb70361]YT[/b:d4ffb70361] sells them if you need them.
 
Be sure to use brass nuts when putting it back on so down the road if it has to come back off your likely to have little or no problems with the studs coming back out
 
Think I may buy a lottery ticket cleaned the block up and not pitting at all. 2 and 0 on the manifold job waiting on the bolts to complete it.
