OT - Delayed Farmall Project

This poor Farmall Cub has been tucked away in the corner
of my shop for almost 5 years waiting on me to find all the
required parts. (and to get through other projects)

I dug it out today to see if I had everything I needed.
I really could use the space back!
Now where did I put those bolts.................

I hav-ta fig. that Joan has been cleaning the shop, in advance of you slinging tools, bolts & and nuts around!!! Good golly....we can actually see the shop floor!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Skinny tractor ya got there!!!

Gary

Well, you can kinda see the floor through all that black sand! LOL
Joan spent a good part of the afternoon trying to track down the
brake pedals for this thing. Not like we need them today, but
apparently them not being here bothered her. She found 'em! :)

neat
I never did a Cub, I probably should, they are pretty popular around here.

Only thing worse than losing bolts during a project.....
finishing a job....and seeing that one lonely bolt staring at me on the workbench...
I have a Farmall dot bolt sitting on the bench right now...bugs me every time I see it.
Checked the tractor numerous times......
(it is my tractor.....so I figure it will let me know if it really needs it...lol...someone elses tractor, I would have kept at it til I found where)

Royse,
Spotted a "Ford 901 tricycle" (miss painted blue and gray)on M-37 North toward Middleville, 1 mile north of M-43 East junction. House number 116 North M-37, Hastings Mi. No price or phone # on for sale sign. Rear tire are original 13-28" Goodyear (worn but sound) 12 volt, no battery, swing chains on lower bar need fixing, stearing sluppie, only little rust on fender, believe live PTO.
Better than your "Basket case."

You do know, of course, that when you finish the Cub you'll still have only half the tractor of a Ford N. (I say this fully tongue-in-cheek, not to start a flame war. I have a '51 Cub and love it -- it's so darned cute! But around here (south-central Minnesota), Cubs cost as much as or more than a good N, and the N is just a lot more tractor for the same bucks. But I'd still buy another Cub, or two, or three, if the price was right. Fun to drive and, as I said, so cute!)

rossow (mn), yep, they're cute little tractors.
I've had this one, a 1948, for a long time.
At one point it was my only tractor.

It has live hydraulics, home built 3 pt hitch, snow plow,
grader blade, moldboard plow and a belly mower.
Still rated at what, 8 drawbar HP?

I'm not going to get rid of it. I think I'll take off the hydraulics
so they can't leak and make it a little show tractor.
I have larger tractors to do the work now, including my N's.

No flame wars here for sure, I like all old tractors! :)

(quoted from post at 23:17:33 08/01/15) God Bless Joanie.... The stuff she endures!!... She
is a Saint!!
Not sure what you mean Ed.
She thought it was Valentine's day today.
I took her out for breakfast AND bought her a new shop vac!
I'm such a romantic.

I guess I should add for the folks that don't know Joan and I,
this is a bit of a running joke between us. She puts up with
me, so she probably deserves Ed's "Saint" title. :)

(quoted from post at 06:53:03 08/02/15) lets see:
tractor in pieces
bbq grill
breakfast/lunch nook all in same area.

looks like paradise to me.
Thanks Steve, we like it! We do a lot of "hanging out" in there even
when we're not actually working. Friends, family, neighbors, etc.
It's well insulated so cool in the summer; floor heated in the winter.

Big Trees, touringsedan, yep, that was kind of the point. :)
After five years I'll be lucky to find all the parts, let alone bolts!

Funny enough though, years ago I got in the habit of at least
throwing all the bolts to "project A" into the same coffee can or
similar. That habit has paid off. I have all the lug bolts, the seat
post bolts (made different) and pretty much any other "special"
bolts. The rest I can buy in town I think.

NNP, they're fun tractors and far more useful than people give
them credit for. Obviously not power houses, but still....
Give one a try! Only tractor Farmall built with a flathead, right?

I know what you mean about the left over bolt too!
That would drive me insane when working on a car or truck.
On my own slow moving tractor I'd still worry, same as you.

LOL......I meant cause you had her hunting parts for
the Cub....having said that.... The new Shop Vac
squares things away!!..we need to get together
again.... Had too much fun!!

I went down there Monday afternoon Charles and it was already
gone. Not sure what they wanted for it, but it didn't last long.
