Good morning ,
I have a 49 , 8n and its leaking fluid from the left side rear axle. The fluid is leaking onto the inside wheel , not a lot but enough to ruin the new brake pads. The fo-4 shows 3 seals , one p. n. 8n4233a1 , and two p. n. D5nn4115a . Should I replace all 3 seals ? I haven't taken it apart yet , I'm working on the front axle bushing . I've put the seal off till last because it looks like a not so fun job .

Thanks

I didn't look up the part numbers you mentioned but when I
do them I replace all the gaskets so I don't have to do it twice.

I also agree with HCooke, follow John's tutorial.
Don't miss the point about how the axle splines need to
line up or forget that outside big nut is torqued to 450 lb/ft.
Torque it again after running it for a little while.

i did read smiths how to , and he says i need just one seal and gaskets and calls out the part number . i get preloading the axle bearing , so i guess i had better find some shims just in case .
thanks guys .
