Got a good price and the PO picked me who was going to use it vs the scrappers tat wanted to part it out.

Was parked and not started for 10 years they say after a new forklift was purchased. The battery is dated 2008. Engine turns, was parked inside. Will give it a once over once it's home. I was looking for a forklift version (from a professional) there wasn't any around but this one was done pretty well actually. I will use it the way it is but probably paint it. Seats the wrong way though.

Looks like a great tractor to start; tire look pretty good.
I'd love to find one around here reasonably priced. About
the only ones I see are Farmall or Allis and WAY overpriced.
Let us know how it turns out!

Well the rears appear brand new.front are old but not checked. It's 12v already an looks like it was just used that day. Rads empty, gas that smells like varnish and was under pressure when I popped it open, vent must be clogged.

Here's my ford 4000 HD. A later model than yours but they are pretty handy to have around when you need them. You can
cut some square tubing and make a base and weld to seat bottom so you could pull up the seat and reverse it. It would
be a little hard on the ride though.

well I have it home now and will try and clean it up to run tomorrow. it's an interesting machine. I found a tag on the forklift and it's from Kuchyt Metal works from Fort Erie Ontario. I see they eventually became KMW and bought an FEL manufacturer and they became mostly known and a loader company and have since changed hands again. I don't see any other information on this company anywhere. It was pointed out to me that the front counterweights. there are 3 poured concrete blocks in the holder contain a pretty large amount of steel bits and bobs and large hex nuts I guess to add weight.

The 3pt hydraulics must be intact as the levers are there but the quadrant is wired into the full down position and the lift arms are cut off and part of the forklift brackets are welded to the stubs that are left. It looks like it's all able to be unbolted and removed. I'd like to see on the machines posted earlier in the thread how they achieved the seat and controls being reversed. and how the steering worked.

Bought a carb kit and new ignition parts except wires. I put the points cap and rotor on it the old ones were really nasty. and it started right up. (I have a plastic tank I use to feed them until I can get the tanks cleaned out. Going to try clr But I have something called evaporust that maybe I could try it dissolves rust off steel and might clean that tank up with throwing objects in there to scrape it?

It runs ok. the throttles at 3/4 and the RPMs are low still; and stalls before it can throttle down to a low idle. I will do the plugs and wires but I had to move it from where it was. Hydraulics seem snappy and quick. So far I have about 600 in it so I think it was a good deal
