I"m currently working on my parents" old 52 8N front loader. It looks exactly like the one above! I"m guessing mine is a Wagner too..but I am having the most difficult
time finding replacement seals for my hydraulic cylinders! Also...I was able to get the RH side rod out, it just slid right out and took the seals with it. On the LH
side I try pulling it out but at the end of travel it stops and there is a metal on metal noise. Is there some sort of tension clip that"s there preventing me from
removing it? And if so...why did the other side just slide right out? Maybe should just buy new hydraulics...

Do u have a hydraulic repair shop nearby? I do--if I was having this problem I'd be on the way to see them..Just a thought and what I'd do..

The rod should have an end stop on it that prevents it from being pushed out the end of the cylinder by hydraulic pressure. If the other one came out the end stop is probably broken off.

That is what I was fearing. Thank you for the reassurance. The likely route we will take next is probably just snagging two new pistons. These are very abused and
beaten. Next question would be if anyone has any suggestions on what and where to buy them. Ours is a single action piston, power on the up, but has gravity drop. I"ll
try to take pictures soon...thanks again guys!

I am not sure that a repair shop is nearby...what I do know is that our money is tight. I've personally done all the work it myself to get it running again like new. Good learning experience too. I would like to repair the cylinders if I can. A couple unknowns...I'm not sure if I need any specialized tools to assemble the pistons [ie: some sort of sleeve to compress the end stop to get it into the cylinder housing, etc] I also don't know if I have to completely remove the rode (take end stop off and remove fully) in order to replace seals. Ideally a rebuild would be best for us...I'm just a young electrical engineer by trade, I've done a lot of work on cars, boats and small engines, but very new to hyraulic cylinder repairs. Thank you for the guidance you all!

I have an old Wagner loader off of a 53 Jubilee that I'mnot using. All three rams are in good working condition, are you interested in them?

Hmm..I suppose that would depend on what you want from them, and where they are located. I live in VT so...
