Well it took pretty much all day but I finally got my recently acquired '48 8N brought back to life after languishing 15+ years in the barn after the
former owner died.
I spent some time off and on recently tinkering with it but it really had me stumped as to why it wouldn't do squat for me when it was supposed
to have been "running when parked".
I finally resorted to starting at the key tracing wires and checking everything with a meter. Did the whole distributor removal, points replacement,
static timing, bench test testing and reinstallation. Harry and Henry got a lot of stuff right on the machine, but that front mount distiributor is for
the birds.
It took 4 tear downs of the carb before I found the main jet needed a wire run through it to get it opened up enough to get it to run.
I've worked on a lot of stuff but this one had me pulling my hair out for a while. It's got all the same stuff, just arranged differently in some real
hard to get to places.
