NAA axle shaft bearing problem

Needed to replace the bearing on one of my axles. Same as 8N. heated it up at about 500 deg but axle would not fit in freezer. Slid bearing onto shaft but it stopped about 1/2" short of bottom. I do not have an H frame press so rigged up a bottle jack and could not get bearing to budge. Heated it up with a torch trying to focus on base of bearing. Got it to go home but it took lots of pounding. Is the bearing going to fail due to overheat? I know by all the bearing do and don'ts it is a bad thing to do. In reality I think this bearing will go forever. Thoughts?

Kind of hard to say without being there to see it done.
Unfortunately, I've got more questions than answers.
How hard do you work the tractor?
What will happen to your world with down time if/when it fails?
What are your options if you buy another replacement bearing?
All questions to think about I guess, no answer required here.
