Ford 501 mower part

Does anyone happen to have one of these they'd like to sell? It's the left arm (facing forward) off a ford 501 sickle bar mower. I've had it welded several times but it keeps breaking so before going to the expense of having one fabricated I thought I'd check to see if anyone has one they'd like to part with.

Thanks,

I would grind it down and weld it. Then heat and bent a flat strap and weld it around the outside. That would make it much stronger.

Hard to get a good weld repair across a hole. I would cut off the damage eye back to solid metal, fab a new piece and weld that on. Also if that is on the right side and you have stay bars that piece isn't needed.

I had exactly the same thing happen to my 501, about 20 years ago. Must be common part to break as I found it impossible to find one but then there was no inet then.

Anyhow, my welder didn't want to touch the job, and he suggested I just cut a fishplate that would sandwich onto the broken piece, and be held on by a couple of big bolts, which I did out of some scrap 1/4" steel. Has worked fine all this time, can get a picture tomorrow if you like.
