Fuel shut off leaking

A few years ago I ordered a replacement from an on-line dealer. First the valve didn't hold. Removed it and found the sealing material was some sort of rubber and was split. Went to my New Holland dealer and bought a new valve. It came with a cork gasket. It held fine. Then the pipe plug was leaking even though tight. Removed it and used a sealer on the threads that was gasoline resistant. It has been over five years ago and still working fine.

A lot of times, the packing around the valve stem leaks. Just tighten it up enough to squeeze the stem a little.
