Leveler Box learning

I put a replacement on the Jubilee today but not before making a short sleeve to clamp in a vise so as to rotate the bent screw, heat it red and straighten it. I had to do the same thing with the orig. Jubilee screw when I got it.

But I didn't know exactly why screws get bent till now.
If the fork is put on upside down, grease zerk on the underside, lowering that lower link arm causes the fork to bind on the arm's top side and so the screw bends at it's weakest point..

The reason I'm considering this is because I KNOW this used box that I put on today must have been on a tractor with the fork upside down, because the check chain clip and the chain were on the wrong side of the fork, grease zerk down! I didn't remove this old box from a tractor, it was by itself but with the check chain hanging from the rusty stuck fork end pin and the long screw stuck in the fork because of the bend.

Anyone recognize this box & fork?
Have any lefty's put the leveler box on the other side?
I didn't get the screw perfectly straight so I have to do it again tomorrow, but I wanted to get it on to see if the length was OK.

ZANE,

Perfectly put question!
With the carryall on the ground there's still two stacked fingers worth of relief. I'll take the Carryall off and lower the arms all the way and check again.

Thanks,
Terry
