8N manifold on 47 2N - Throttle linkage - What's different?

This may be a very easy question for some of you, but i am not near as familiar with all the little differences of these tractors.. As said in the title, I am in the process of rebuilding a 2N (nothing pretty just need a tractor to mow, drag arena, etc...) and have put what i believe to be a 8n exhaust manifold on it. It was laying around, and free. It's larger in size and now the throttle linkage is not long enough to go WOT. Im only getting about 3/4 of the throttle, and because it's in a bind, it keeps popping off. My question is, is the main throttle control arm (runs horizontal above engine) different on an 8n, as in it will stick out further to clear the manifold, or is the linkage running from that to the governer longer/bent to accomodate? Or Both? Thanks for the help.

I think you probably have an aftermarket manifold. They are bulkier. I have one on an 8N (it was there when I got her) and it interferes with
the nuts that hold the carb on and the throttle linkage also. A visual inspection tells me the manifold is bigger. See if you can bend the
throttle linkage to go around the bulkier manifold.

I agree, it could just be an aftermarket manifold. When i bought it, the "stock" manifold had the typical leak/erosion at #4. I am not sure where the other came from, just know it fits and was in better condition. I have it bent around now to get me by, but the linkage is not long enough to get a full throw on the throttle. I use the tractor as is, but it would be nice to have that extra in some situations.

"is the main throttle control arm (runs horizontal above engine) different on an 8n"

To answer this question, yes. Its not there at all on an 8N.
It is ran entirely differently, still horizontal, but down at carb level.

I have an aftermarket manifold on my 2N and nothing binds
with the one I have. Where is it binding? Can you post a picture?

I'm not a big fan of "farmerizing" anymore, but we did it all of
my life on the farm, so if nothing else you could extend the rod
by welding a piece of steel dowel into a straight part of it.

I can post pictures later this evening, but the "binding" is just due to the throttle linkage being bent around the manifold. The more i bend it (shorter it gets), the less throttle i have, so i have it as close as possible. When i throttle up, the lincage will press against the manifold, and im a good bump or something away from knocking one of the connections loose. The connector is just getting weaker from the constant stress. It's as if the main linkage at the top needs to come out more so the throttle linkage going down to the governer has enough clearance to get out past the manifold.

And i'm not a big fan of "farmerizing" it as you call it either. I'll end up doing something along those lines if there's not an easy fix/conversion of a few parts, but trying to steer clear. Thank you for the help.
