Oil in radiator may be combustion byproduct from leaking head gasket. Water in oil is much sorse!

tworley........oil in radiator? NAW, not possible. just kiddin'. Heres the deal, in the long time ago, you used to haffta add water pump lubricant to radiator water. Now days, WPL is automatically added to anti-freeze. You just don't see it when you check the radiator water in yer BelchFire-V8 'cuz the lid is deep under the hood where the sunshine don't reach to reflect. We recommend 50/50 anti-freeze. Don't matter, green or pink, yer call. While the "oil" you are seeing is real, recommend re-torquing yer flathead head bolts before the head WARPS. Don't haffa torque wench? Just take enny ring-spanner and PULL. Loose head nut or bolts will be obvious ........HTH, the tite Dell

Dell,

Thank you! Dear-old-dad will be happy to hear that.

Maybe you can setting a disagreement are having. I install a Fram C3 oil filter in dad's tractor with the metal flange up.

Looks like this:

Dad flip it over, so it is flange down.

We should have gotten the 1010 because it has a handle so there is no doubt, but we didn't.

So......

Flange up or down?

tworley........I'd want flange UP so I ken grabber with pliers iff'n no bailin' warr handle ......oily Dell
