Swapping internals from 2n to 8n engine

I have a 47 2n that I am restoring. The engine block turned out to be cracked and looks beyond repair. All the internal parts are in good shape. I have an 8n front mount block that is in good shape, but the internals are shot. It appears to me that all of the parts from the 2n should fit in the 8n, is that the case? The only difference I can see is that the 2n has adjustable valve tappets and the 8n has non adjustable. If all of these parts will fit and the bore, stroke and compression ratio are the same, where did the stated horsepower increase from the 2n to the 8n come from?

I didn't compare the 2 heads, I had a couple of head bolts broken off in the block, that I was drilling out today. I will check them out tomorrow. Thanks.
