I have a 2n according to the serial number, I have a little bit of a problem with the governor. The tractor runs fine without a load, when I engage the shredder (a load) it runs ok for a while and then starts getting bogged down after about an hour of shredding. How do I adjust the governor under a load. Any and all help is really appreciated. Thanks in advance. Rodney
 
if the governor works fine the first hour of mowing, then magically seems to not work..you need to look elsewhere.

the governor works or doesn't work.

loss of engine power over time can be heat and tolerance related.

does your oil pressure stay good?

Is spark still good after hot?

Any signs of boiling over after an hour?

Mower actually turning free?
 
A restriction in the fuel supply can do that too. The carburetor will be full when you start but will gradually have its fuel level fall until the engine won't run or won't develop any power.
 
Oil pressure doesn't change, no signs of overheating, mower turning freely, I may need to check spark and also the load (weeds may be more than the mower can easily mow - some weeds/grass are thick) so it may be the amount of the load and or type of weeds (thicker stalks). Sometimes you get too close to the problem for a while and need to back away and have another set of eyes/ears look at it -- Thanks.
 
I may have a restriction, I will check on it. I looked at the bowl and it looks clear but may need to take off and clean the screen. All help is appreciated.

Remove the plug in the bottom of the carb and measure the amount of fuel you get. You should be able to fill a pint jar in two or three minutes. This will caheck sthe whole fuel system for blockage.
