I'm supposed to be making 1940 9N and one thing I need to fix is the throttle when you pull it back to rev up the engine the hand throttle moves back down to almost like its spring loaded any ideas what's causing this or how to fix

Henry Ford made 35,742 of them in 1940 was that not enough? Why reinvent the horse?

Do you have the quadrant under the throttle rod
and the governor compensating spring in place?

After I posted this I checked a little online and the compensating spring is gone and the quadrant is in place
