8N THERMOSTAT

Ok, new question, on my 8N, I changed the waterpump, belt and all hoses, could not find a thermostat until I looked in side the old upper radiator hose, took it out cleaned it up, tested it on the stove, it opened around 170, so it is good. So my question is, it does go in the upper hose correct?? and on it, it states TO RADIATOR, so that tells me the water flows up the hose and into the top of the Radiator correct?? Thanks for all the help

Yes. Hot water exits the head and enters the radiator where it is cooled, and the waterpump draws coolsnt from the bottom of the radiator and forces the coolant back into the block.

that is what I needed to know, I have an older Thermostat, it has the markings on which way it goes, but I just wanted to double check that I have it in right before I put the hood back on and start her, thank you Bob for the info!!!

The reason the thermostat is marked is so that it gets installed so the heat-sensitive element is nearest the head, for quicker reaction to engine temperature rise.
