Radiator blow tube

There was some discussion on another thread about using air to blow out your radiator fins front and back. I just thought I'd pass this along. It's kind of hard to get an air nozzle in there where you want to blow.

Below is a simple useful tool for that. Just go to your hardware store and get a brass fitting with 1/8" pipe threads and a barbed end for 1/4" plastic tubing. It should fit on any air nozzle you might have. Works great.

I did something like that years ago but I used copper pipe and solder it on the end of an air nozzle and bent the end at a 90. I made it about 12 inches long so you could get it to the middle and all over.

I actually made mine for blowing out the dishes that the spark plugs sit in when I change the plugs. Don't want any dirt dropping down in the cylinders. My 8N has the FEL frame right in the way and I can't see in there. The plastic tubing lets me feel when my hand is in there. It just happens to work well on the radiator as well.

I have several different blow guns but the one pictured is very handy considering the pipe thread end. I have many adapters made for mine, using barbed and compression fittings for different sizes/lengths of tubing and hoses.
