Clutch questions.

Have a 1946 2N. Recently, clutch would occasionally not engage when pedal was pushed. Yesterday, clutch would disengage but then re-engage when pedal was still pushed. Today, clutch would not disengage. Pushed hard on pedal and now pedal will not return to its normal position. Obviously a clutch problem, but exactly what has happened internally, and what do I need to buy to fix it?

Check where the lever is attached to the clutch release bearing shaft that goes into the housing. That little lever can crack at it's base and when the pedal is depressed instead of the shaft rotating the lever just gaps open at the crack/

Gwag,It sounds like the worn clutch facing has flew apart and double up,not letting the clutch release.

Could be a number of things wrong. Clutch disk has come apart and wedged the pressure plate so pedal will not come up. Throw out bearing gone/broken. Pressure plat finger broken. Throw out bearing fingers broken or other wise twisted on the shaft. Pressure plate springs broken and holding thing so pedal does not come up. Real hard to know for sure with out splitting it first

carefully check what ZANE said then if that's not cracked or rivet/bolt sheared at that
location it's time to split...

Thanks everyone. Looks like I have a summer project. Pretty sure it's internal. Guess I'll be splitting the old girl.
