2N Distributor Update.

replaced points in 2N front mount distributor and trying to set timing per book. spent over a couple of hours trying to get it correct. Just not working put it to the side and got a jig from windy ridge farms. Got new jig in mail and I figured I got it licked now. Still couldn't get timing adjusted right (points just starting to open when tang is in correct position. After messin with it for another hour and not succeeding, I ordered new internal parts to replace the original parts. New parts came, installed using jig and it took less than 5 minutes.
Took the rebuilt distributor out to the farm and installed it. Turned the gas and key on, pushed the starter button and the tractor fired up in less than 2 revs. Sometimes it's better to bite the bullet and spend the $ instead of messin with old parts that look OK but aren't and getting all peed off. Being able to get on the tractor, turn the key and then go bush hogging for a couple of hours is well worth any price, or should I say Priceless.

got new breaker plate and the shaft with the weights and tang on one end. Basically all the internal parts of the dizzy.

What about the bushing in the base? The new plate has the front bushing; the rear bushing is in the base. And one more question..... is the plate steel like the OEM plate or is it stamped?
