Replacing Oil Pressure Guage

My 8N's (SN 315159) oil pressure gauge has sprung a leak and sits at about ½ full. I'm going to replace it but have what might sound like an inert or even newbie question. I just don't want something so simple to cause any headscratching after the fact.
Does the line have to be bled like a break line? Or, is the trapped air going to have no affect? Or, maybe even supposed to be there.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

No need to bleed the line. Air in it will compress to the point that you get a correct reading and over time the air will in fact bleed out on it own

If you are concerned you can crack the fitting a bit while the engine is running and a rag wrapped around the fitting to catch the escaping oil. Doesn't take much and retighten-just like bleeding brakes and if careful no mess.

I may have missed something but the oil pressure gauge is an indicator of just that -oil pressure, not level of oil as you said "1/2 full" so not sure if that is what you meant to say or that it checks 1/2 full with dipstick. Where is the leak?
