2nd and Fourth gears don't work

I changed the hydraulic oil in my 52 Ford 8n this morning. All went well until I removed the bolt on the right side of the tractor that held the shift plates in place. I removed that bolt instead of the one that is there to check the fluid level. I removed the plate that goes to the top of the transmission and noticed the second and fourth gear shift plate had dropped down. I lined it back up with the bolt that had been removed and thought all was good. Now there is no resistance when shifting into either second or fourth. Please help.

There is no check plug on the N tractors. The dip stick is the only way to check oil level in the drive train.

You will have to remove the top cover again from the transmission. It is possible that if you didn't get that pivot bolt back in correctly you could
have bent the shifter plate or the shifter plate is not in the shift rain at the bottom of the shift plate.

It may be necessary to drain the transmission completely to be able to see what is going on at the bottom of the shifter. Got to get back into that
rail/rod endentation.

It appears that I bent the shift plate for second and forth gear. How do I get the plate out so I can bend it back like it was before? I hope that there is any easier way than splitting the tractor.

I straightened one by doing some creative wedging and prying with a bar and got it back in place.
Don't remember exactly how but I sure didn't break it down to do it.
