Seems like a pretty fair tractor for the money

A lot of you guys have the skills from working on Ns to take on a project like this.
Might be worth a glimpse if someone was looking to upgrade.

Looks like a good deal.

A friend of mine bought a Jubilee yesterday for $500.

The engine was rebuilt a few years ago and runs great. Sherman combination. Tires about 75% with nearly new rims on back.

Bought it cheap from a guy who gave up and bought a Kubota (He will never go back.) The tractor runs well the lift and PTO work but the tractor will not move.

Friend called me a couple of times before buying it and I told him to just buy it and ask questions later.

He called me last after night after buying it and finding out that it will not move. Said the nut on the end of the axle turns but the wheel does not.

Sounds like he has an easy fix and a $2500+ tractor by replacing the axle and hub with parts saved from a couple of 8Ns that he parted out.

He also bouoght a VERY good 671 about 5 years ago from a knowledgeable owner for $1200. The input shaft had been replaced a few years before with a new CNH part when they were still available. He showed me the old one. The tractor would not operate in any of the gears that become nun functional when the interlock servo pin falls out (sorry, cannot remember the gears from memory). The owner had taken it to the local CNH dealer and they told him that they had no one who could work on it so he gave up. I put a new interlock pin in it and changed the S-O-S oil in a couple of hours and about $50.00 in parts, including the oil. This one is a VERY good tractor.

Patience pays off.

hope a tractor 'fixer' gets it.
recently I passed on a nice looking 641 with PS
(went for far less than 16)
because of a deal I was working on with another tractor.
well, the deal didn't work out..
I was angry at myself for missing the 641.
Talked to a guy that knew the buyer, said I was lucky,
it had tranny troubles.
Told the friend I would pay what the buyer paid, and I would take it.
nope, he is parting it.......
