I've looked in the archives and find some older info, but I'm seeking fresh thoughts: My son is buying a
piece of property whose owner has an early 1950 8N and multiple pieces of equipment. I'm wondering
about fair prices. I know about 8N values in general (I have three 8Ns), and I haven't seen this one yet --
it's at a Ford NH dealer getting something fixed in the front-mount distributor. It may be interesting
because it's been on the same property since new and still has the original sales receipt, but I can't even
guess at its overall condition sight-unseen; I know tires are a huge factor. Regardless of tractor value,
I'm specifically wondering what people are paying for Dearborn 2-bottom plows (model 10-156) in
good shape. It's shedded, complete and looks good. Value in good useable condition? How about a
single-gang Dearborn disk (model 11-1) that also looks good? He also has a Ford model 106 bushhog-
type 5-foot rear mower with a leaky gearbox seal and minor rust-through on the top (so fixable but
needing work). Beyond that he has a PTO-driven wood splitter (maker unknown), a Stockland pond
scoop and 6-foot rear blade (both good cond.), tire chains, one of those tractor jacks that raise the
whole tractor, and what's called a "digger." The guy is having trouble parting with this equipment and
other stuff, and he hasn't even given a ballpark guess at asking price. I know sentimentally attached
sellers can be difficult to deal with, but, with thanks in advance, I'm asking here -- plow and disk values
in particular, and anything else anyone is willing to make a guess about. Any educated advice will be
better than my own guesses. (Tractor values I get, but I'm dumber than a post about attachments
because I've never needed any that didn't come with my tractors or that I bought new. Sorry, I couldn't
get any pictures.)
